Dewalt was founded in 1922 with a Radial Arm Saw designed to increase productivity on the farm. Heavily focused on Woodworking in the begining, aquired by Black and Decker in the 1960’s they didn’t introduce handheld power tools until the early 1990’s at which point it took off amoung trade professionals.

At one point Dewalt dominated as much as 60%+ of the cordless market for professional power tools. With increased competition targeting professional users that number has come down however remain one of the dominate players in Power Tools. Part of the Stanley Black & Decker Family shares ranks with pro brands like Irwin, Craftsmen, Lenox, Stanley, Bostich, Porter Cable, and many others.
