Earlier this summer we had a chance to test out both of these new Bosch Jigsaws. The Top Handle JS470E as well as Barrel Grip JS470EB (either $159, Ohio Power Tool) both feature the same high quality Switzerland made 7.0 Amp motor as well as "Constant Response" circuitry which allows for consistent speed while you cut. Other features we were happy to see included an ejection blade system so you don’t have to grab the hot blade, ambidextrous control for us lefties and a steel insert on the base with built in bevel wrench. Of course they also have variable speeds and multiple orbiting action settings for a very wide range of control of what you are cutting.
I am personally more comfortable with the top grip but that is probably just because it is what we were raised on. The barrel grip seems like once you got used to it there would be no turning back. Of course the jigsaw blades also have a lot to do with the overall performance of the saw.
