Milwaukee M18 Metal Circular Saw 2682-22 Reader Review

A few weeks ago we did a quick post and video announcing the launch of the Milwaukee M18 2682-22 5-3/8” metal cutting circular saw. We had a little experience with the unit but still had some lingering doubts about how it would perform in the real world. Then last week one of our local contacts purchased one of these saws (tool only 2682-20, no Red Lithium batteries) so we pitched in a free blade and asked them to test its limits. Honestly we were a little nervous for the results because we knew they were not going to be nice to this tool.

The results were incredibly positive, even more so than we had thought possible. “The saw easily and effortlessly cut through a variety of stock I had lying around. The metal varied from sheet metal to 3/4" EMT conduit to angle iron to 1/2" rod all the way up to 5/16” steel plate! I was really impressed with the ease of use, little to no spark, and absolutely no kickback! In addition, it left a clean burr-free cut which is a time saver. I am very happy with this purchase and hope the word gets out about this incredible tool.” Dave Charnas, Columbus. He went on to point out this tool also leaves perfect 90 degree cuts everytime unlike a recip saw which can leave an uneven cut.

Check out this photo album for some more of Dave’s test photos as well as the some of the stock Milwaukee pictures of the tool and a few from our brief experience with the proto type last summer.
