They’re calling this the worlds most powerful cordless impact wrench. There are three exclusive Milwaukee innovations that make this thing a reality. POWERSTATE brushless motors deliver the power and reliability, the REDLITHIUM battery pack, and the REDLINK PLUS intelligence providing a communications path between the two.
The POWERSTATE Motor is the only one that could make this much torque. The REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT HD 12 amp hour battery featuring 21700 lithium ion cells, provides the run time to install up to 200 1 ¼” bolts, and the REDLINK PLUS intelligence allows the power to flow while protecting against overloads, overheating and over-discharge.
Last of all, a 4 mode DRIVE CONTROL feature allows you to switch between modes that match the power and speed needed for your specific application. And of course ONE KEY integration makes it easy to track your investment and customize it’s settings for reliable, repeatable torque settings.
Launching this August 2020, the bare tool will be available for only $799, or in a kit with 2 12 amp hour batteries, a charger and contractor bag for $1299.
Now I know what you might be thinking… ‘I’ve got a fleet full of lug nuts I’m gonna bust” but hold up buddy. This new D-Handle is designed for ironworking, power utility, mechanical, and HVAC/R. But if you need industrial power to handle your huge lug nuts, Milwaukee has “one more thing”, just for you. Milwaukee told us they will also launch an M18 FUEL 1” D-Handle Extended Anvil version for applications that need more reach. It will feature a special lug nut mode which can be enabled by the one key app, to prevent the over-torque of lug nuts by automatically shutting off the tool withing the targeted torque range of 350 to 450 ft-lbs. We don’t have an ETA on that one yet, but we’ll let you know when we learn more.
