EXCLUSIVE | Milwaukee’s GREATEST SECRET SAW. The Milwaukee Track Saw is HERE.

Welcome back Power Tool Fans! Under this sheet, we have the most anticipated power tool of the decade. We’ve been after this thing for years, and after calling in every favor we had, Belts and Boxes has it first. This is Milwaukee M18 Track Saw! Let’s Go!

Well boys, here it is. This is the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 6 ½” track saw. Thanks to the powerstate crank on the back, you can easily get it up to 6,300 RPM with the flick of the wrist. It features a 2 3/16” depth of cut, and it’s all built with high quality ABS plastic.

And that blade cover isn’t just for show. It boasts up to 90% dust collection, keeping your work piece clear, and your cuts precise.

This has been by a large margin, the most anticipated saw to ever come from Milwaukee, and maybe the industry as a whole. And if we’re being honest, it comes with several surprises. First off, let’s talk about the new batteries.

This is the all new M18 RedLithium CP.25. And we know what you’re thinking. How can a .25, not 2.5, .25 AH battery get the job done? We have absolutely no idea. But after charging them and using them for countless hours of testing, we haven’t emptied one yet.

And just look at the size compared to the 12ah. Excellent for ergonomics. We haven’t tried these new CP.25s on any other M18 tools, but get subscribed if you want to see it.

But the surprises don’t stop there. The track is well, not as smooth as we’d like. It does slide along it, producing some very accurate cuts, but it makes this clicking sound that doesn’t instill a lot of confidence.

Then again, the track is far more modular than those available from other brands. Milwaukee’s breaks up into 4 separate 12 ¾” long sections. When combined they make a standard 51” track. Giving you a few extra inches, so you can keep your saw on the track when cross cutting 4×8 sheets. And of course you can always buy another track to make a 102” for ripping 4x8s as well.

In our testing, the saw performed as you’d expect, thanks to the FUEL trio of features. The Redlithium batteries, the powerstate brushless motor, and the redlink plus intelligence hardware and software, that makes it all talk together.

I’ve been using the saw for the last few weeks, and I have to say, the wait was easily worth it. There are a few things that concern me. Well, the price for one thing. $3,000 is no chump change. It’s not, but part of that has to do with another Milwaukee first.

This, as far as we know, is the first Milwaukee tool manufactured in Canada. Specifically it was designed and assembled by Playwell Bricks in Middle Musquodoboit Nova Scotia. Good luck pronouncing that.

Which brings me to my other issue. It’s made of LEGO. If you’re not careful, stuff falls off. Plus, for the first time ever, there are plans to build your own, and they’re going to be available right here!

You can get the instructions today, but as for the saw itself, Milwaukee says “Soon”. Now I know you guys are going to have a ton of questions about this, and if you leave them in the comments below, we’ll be happy to answer them.

But honestly, we’re more interested in simply hearing what you guys think of the all new Milwaukee M18 Track Saw. Is it what you were expecting? Are you likely to drop the $3,000 on one? Or will you choose to build your own? Let us know.
