BVA: Quick Look at Hydraulic Lifting

BVA Hydraulic’s roots go back to 1972 as the worldwide leader and innovator for hydraulic solutions. BVA has built a reputation through focusing on product evolution through leading trends, customer service, and through their aggressive stocking program so you’re not waiting the typical 4-6 weeks for larger rams. But who is BVA, how does a hydraulic pump work, and what exactly do they do? Let’s take a look.

Hydraulic Pump Crash Course

A hydraulic pump is a mechanical device that converts mechanical power into hydraulic energy (the gif below helps visualize how that looks). But basically, the pump produces liquid movement or flow not direct pressure. However, this flow is necessary for the development of pressure up to 10,000 psi, which is a function of resistance to the fluid flow in the system.

Thus, your pumping action creates a vacuum at the pump inlet which allows atmospheric pressure to force liquid from the reservoir, through the pump, and inevitably through the outlet. That pressure moving through the unit creates the hydraulic system that allows you to lift tons with a simple arm pumping motion or automatically with the assistance of air, electric or gasoline motors, seen within their product line.

Why BVA?

Why BVA you ask? Let’s just start out talking about their lifetime warranty. If you are using these tools in the way they were intended—they are covered for life. Not the lifetime of the product (marketing terminology trickery), but your lifetime. BVA knows that when you use their pumps, you’ll never look for another hydraulic solution, so you’ll be coming to them for all their cylinders and accessories for years to come.

Just look how easy it is to unpack, set up, and function.

They have also ditched plastic. They’ve developed an all metal construction of their pumps, so they’ve backed up their lifetime warranty with a product that is truly built to last. Another thing, for the experienced hydraulics users, BVA has done away with “in-house” oils being required for use. Use your preferred brand of quality hydraulic oil.

Bleed your BVA pump in less than a minute. Does it get any better than that?

Another thing you seasoned users may be used to is waiting on special order for necessary equipment. Back to their stocking program, BVA’s large North American inventory will have their products shipping immediately putting you back to work—putting more money in your pocket.

Have Hydraulic Questions?

Building a hydraulic system can be a very complicated process, single or double acting cylinders, capacities & flow rates of hydraulic pumps, adapters, manifold, kits, and accessories there is a lot to get right. BVA hydraulic rams ranging from 4 tons to over 600 tons.
