The Bosch Colt Router led the market for a number of years, actually paved the way for other manufactures’ corded trim Routers such Makita and Dewalt. We’re surprised that this cordless router didn’t come sooner honestly, Ridgid and Makita launched their 18V cordless routers some time ago. Bosch is now ready to go cordless but suprisingly in a 12V tool, the GKF12V-25 is an all new Edge Router design. Unlike when other released their cordless model which look very similar to corded, this looks nothing like their corded Colt routers. The GKF12V-25 router design looks like it could be a game changer for usability but it will not fit in the existing accessories or Plunge Base and raises questions for run-time.
As they all say, it’s difficult to judge a tool by it’s press release so we’re looking forward to getting one in hand to give it a real world test. We’re curious to see how it stacks up to the corded Colt and other Cordless models.

Cordless router offers freedom and precision professionals want in a lightweight 12-volt tool
The Bosch GKF12V-25 12V Max Palm Edge Router delivers cordless freedom and an ergonomic offset design that make this router the choice for comfortable, compact edge routing and trimming. The cordless router is lightweight, balanced and designed specifically to make edge router and trimming easier.
The GKF12V-25 12V Max router weighs only 2.2 Lbs. (bare tool). The 12-volt Bosch EC Brushless motor offers impressive 13,000 rpm power and helps to provide great runtime. Constant speed circuitry monitors and maintains speed under load for consistent performance, and restart protection helps prevent accidental startup when switching batteries. The tool provides up to 23 Ft. of round-over capacity per battery amp hour (Ah). An easy-change spindle lock offers fast macro-depth adjustment and easy fine-depth adjustment.
The router provides 12V Max power combined with cordless convenience. A compact grip area is positioned over the workpiece for maximum stability when edge forming and trimming. The tool measures 9.9 In. high, 5.7 In. long (front to back) and 3.1 In. wide. Its narrow 2.3 In. grip area enhances the router’s maneuverability.

The Bosch 12-volt edge router combines smooth, fast macro-depth adjustment with easy and accurate fine adjustment. The fine adjustment is 0.04 In. per revolution of the dial. A lock system on the tool helps prevent tampering with the depth setting.
The Bosch GKF12V-25 12V Max Palm Edge Router includes a 1/4 In. self-releasing collet chuck and forged collet wrench. Other key features include a finger barrier to help prevent contact with the bit area when the tool is in operation and a drop-detection sensor that stops the motor if the tool is dropped.
