Our first stop is the drywall nation! Anyways. Brian has been sharing a video series for drywall beginners, and this week he walks you through using a Level 5 Automatic Taping tool, to tape the inside corners of your drywall install. My two favorite Aussies are back together… kinda. Mike and Dwayne continue their tool reviews, but to keep a safe distance they used facetime, instead of doing what we do, and never see any other families. The boys reviewed the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Router and Random orbital sanders, two favorites here in our own shop. They finished their video by offering to answer any questions on their Instagram! If you’ve had your TV off for the last 3 months, you may not know that a pandemic is going on, and the government’s solution is to mail us all a check. Richard from Finish Carpentry TV somehow convinced his wife that their check should go to a post hole digger. This guy is either an evil genius, or he just married WAY up. Either way, he used his stimulus check to pick up a ThunderBay Y43 Earth Auger, so he and his wife can build a new fence on their property. This, is what love looks like guys. If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, you should make a tool lover your wife. At least that’s what I learned. Also, augers are cool. Do you want a pressure washer, but not the pressure on your wallet? The boys on the TIA Crew have a solution. Dan and Eric showed off their GreenWorks 1700psi electric pressure washer, that produces, you guessed it, 1700psi, in a really small box. And better yet, you can pick it up for under $100 bucks. They use the little power washer on their trucks and Cub Cadet Challenger MX and get some great results! Let’s quickly move on to Industry News from the Construction Junkie. Do you know how to glaze a 2200lb window 14 feet in the air? Very carefully as it turns out. Smart Lift has a new battery-powered remote control solution that uses suction to make glazing enormous windows and absolute breeze. Does that make sense? You’re kind of blocking the breeze with the window. The system is mounted on a wheeled machine with a telescoping arm, ensuring you can get the window precisely where it needs to be. Eric from Mechanical Hub shared a throwback post remembering when he went all-electric on his OPE. Look at his wife Heather. Such a badass, even without the saw.
And finally, Standley the Dirt Monkey posed an interesting question about hiring employees. He asked if you hire based on skill. Because for him, he hires based on heart. He figures and the unskilled laborer is worth his weight in gold if he’s got the determination and a will to learn.
