Another huge launch from Milwaukee Tool this week, stepping into a new category with a ton of applications for concrete and landscape professionals. Shocking to us this and other huge launches are all coming out before the big #NPS19 event which leads us to ask, what is bigger than these are they saving to launch at the event? This M18 Switch Tank System really is going to be a game changer and has a ton of very smart features. Of course being on one of the most popular battery platforms is a huge advantage over anything out now but they did some very smart things here including building the tanks & hoses to be completely self-contained so there is no chance of mixing chemicals anywhere in the tank, pump, hose or wand.
Basically there is one M18 Switch Tank Base and 3 tank options (pesticide, concrete chemical, water supply) depending on which tank you want first you’re looking at $399-$439 for the kit which includes 1x 3.0Ah battery (enough charge for 12 tanks). From there additional tanks are $149-$164 so it’s very easy to keep everything totally separate. With a big push for OSHA Silica Dust Safety Compliance there are still many egregious violators out there specifically doing concrete cutting with 14” gas saws. These are hard to fully contain the silica dust with vacuum solutions, although dustless shroud are available, the best solution continues to be water. We really think this M18 solution could be wildly popular if even a fraction of crews decided to really get OSHA compliant when using one of these saws. This solution is way ahead of the traditional hand pump water tanks like Milwaukee 49-76-0055 which most people despise for a number of reasons.

How It Works
Each SWITCH TANK™ solution is made up of two components – the M18™ SWITCH TANK™ Powered Base and the Water Supply or Sprayer Tank Assembly. The Powered Base includes the motor, REDLITHIUM™ battery compartment, and REDLINK™ electronics, while the interchangeable Tank Assembly includes its pump, hose, and respective accessories. The isolated pump and hose design allows users to add on additional Tank Assemblies for different applications, eliminating cross-chemical contamination.
